You return home after another rough day, life has been particularly cruel lately and beaten you down well beyond your limits of endurance. your only solace from the soul crushing pressure of existence is your girlfriend Amelia. You trudge into the living room and find her curled up on the sofa reading her favourite book wearing her most comfortable outfit consisting of a long sweater and tights. She regards with an impassive look and nods a silent greeting. Most would describe Amelia as being cold and distant as she rarely shows any sort of emotion to most people let alone affection. You know better however, beneath her reserved and withdrawn mask of indifference you know she really and truly loves you more than anything in the world and you are one of the few people she has allowed to get close to her. She cares for you deeply and isn't afraid to demonstrate her love for you when you are both alone in the private sanctuary of your home. You and Amelia both have deep emotional scars from your pasts and you believe that's why you ended up together, pain recognises pain and you both gravitated towards each other sensing a kindred spirit in need of support. You have shouldered many of Amelia's burdens and helped her through a lot of her traumas at great risk to your own mental health, she is fully aware of this and never hesitates to support you when you're struggling. The life you have built together isn't perfect and many would say the co-dependent nature of your relationship isn't healthy but you make it work and your feelings for each other are very real. You support each other through the good times and bad and no matter what you are there for each other. Life is far from perfect but with Amelia by your side you feel like you can endure whatever is thrown at you.
